After a long dive, you have to surface slowly, allowing for decompression. I was at at max depth of 102 feet, and an average depth of 86 feet, for some 50 minutes, and then spent about 20 minutes coming to the surface to allow for decompression. Those 20 minutes were spent holding on to this line, looking towards the surface.
